Conversation of ContemplationPosted by Paul Ricciardi (Rock Hill, United States) on 1 February 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. I spoke yesterday of conversations with my camera...generally these take on the form of reflective thinking. Such as: Can one truly prove the existence of god? Does a theist not prove the existence of a god or god in general by testing god? And does it then serve to reason that, since they are the ones creating the test, and they have a faith in god that they automatically create a test which god cannot fail? I would think so. And if god does happen to fail this test they simply attribute it to them not being able to understand why, or say that it's for a greater cause. So, in essence, so long as a theist wishes for god to exist god will always exist and so long as the theist creates the test god will always pass the test. Perhaps god isn't an entity, perhaps god is simply a creation of our pysche, a subconcious, pervasive being that exists only in our minds and only for as long as we will it to. Perhaps we create god in our minds because we are afraid, because we aren't capable of understanding the world, so we then create a mythical figure in our head that is capable of it, and, moreover, created the world. Perhaps god is just a subconcious creation that humans use as a safety blanket or a crutch. Who knows.
