Mist

Mists on the pond shot late at night. This is meant to be a very subtle set of photos. I think that, too often, we reward the photos that are bright and saturated and cliched. Photoblogging is great, but the internet promotes instant gratification. If a photo doesn't capture us within a second we then judge that it isn't any good. Photoblogging, it seems, is a reflection of that. The photos that are capable of grabbing your attention within the first 3 seconds (but that may lose it 3 seconds later) are rewarded.
The photos that are subtle, quiet, classical, and good aren't even looked at because they don't just grab you at first. You have to spend some time with them, you have to sit and actually look at them. You can't just flash the image by your eye and expect to be able to appreciate it.

I'm not sure if these photos are any good. I posted them last night and didn't have anything to say about them, and I came back this morning to 11 views, 4 of which were my own and decided to type what I had been feeling last night as I posted. Perhaps that's just an indication of the poorness of the photos, perhaps it's just a reaffirmation of my theory.
